How to centralize the library files?

Is there any easy way to centralize the sub VIs? How can I put them into the same folder if they are all over the places? Thanks.

Hello,

What do you mean with "they are all over the places"? Are you refering to your own VI's? If it so....you can create folders inside the folder C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 8.6\user.lib every folder you create there, appears like a new palette on the USER LIBRARY functions palette.

If you move subVI's that you are ussing on some project....when you open that project labview will indicate you that the files has been deleted or moved, then it will seek on your disk for it, this can take some time, you can stop the search and browse for the file yourself.

I hope this can help you.

Regards,

The code was left by someone and apparently the subVIs were not well organized – they are in different folders on different drives, which I do not know how many and where they are. The only way I know is to read through each one and find the location but it will take forever. I want to put all the subVIs together (or make copies) into one folder so it can be easy to maintain and protect. What is the best approach? Thanks.

I suggest this:

Open the main VI of your application, then File -> Save as -> Duplicate Hierarchy to a new location.

This would put all the files from different places that you don't know, all into subfolders of the folder you specify.
