How to code Traditional DMM 4060 with Labview 8.6 ?

I've got a NI 4060 PCI DMM card installed, which loads up under Traditional DAQ in Measurement explorer.

Tried the niDMM functions with Labview 8.6, but they don't work with this old version of hardware.

How do I comunicate to this DMM ??

Is there drivers or functions available ?

Thanks

Hi,

Have you been running this device on anyother machines? or older versions on LabVIEW?

have you got the latest version on the Traditional DAQ drivers?

Can you eplain any other tests you have tried?

Here is a file which might help to solve your issue

I previously used this 4060 DMM in the same machine running on very MFC code, which I wrote in 2002 with drivers that came out that time.

Now got Labview, and was hoping to still use the DMM, but cant seem to figure out how to talk (configure and take readings) to it !

IT does not have a VISA option, and the NIDMM function in Labview reports it does not work for these traditional devices.

So I am stuck ?  Can't imagine the DMM card is useless in Labview ?

Traditional Drivers version 7.4.4

Labview 8.6

Measurement explorer 4.5

NIDMM 2.9

Hi,

Can you see the device in MAX (Measurement and Automation eXplorer)?.

if not could you install the DAQmx drivers to attempt to see it?

Yes I can, it is loaded under Traditional NIDAQ devices, as NI 4060 for PCI

The Test Panel works, but I just have no idea on how to use it in Labview

Thanks

Hi ,

Have you tried looking at the example codes provided in LabVIEW?

On the start up panel in the bottom right corner there is a 'find examples' option.

Then :-

Hardware input and output >> DAQmx >>

In there is a number for example codes hopefully there will be one you can use.
