How to communicate via rs 232 from Labview

I want to communicate with a rs 232 device from Labview but can´t find how to do it
For GPIB communication i know how to use the instrument assistant but what about rs 232?
I´m a Labview beginner so any help is appreciated.

In the support of ni.com, search "serial port communication" technical papers. Maybe the useful one for you is the paper: "Serial Communication Starting Point".
You can also refer to the rs232 examples along with the Labview software.
