Design it in photosop and save it as png, jpg, or gif.

Labview decorations are very limited and that is a complain many users have. (included me)

Hi odsnot,

Unfortunately, there are limited decorations on the controls palette in LabVIEW for you to choose from.

As suggested by Pnt, use photoshop to create the decoration you need and paste it on the front panel.

Good thing about LabVIEW is you can paste almost anything as an image without the fuss of any conversion or additional step to import them.

After that you can manipulate them like any other object in LabVIEW. (Alignment, resizing, grouping, overlaying, etc.)

You can also use MS Powerpoint to quickly create basic decorations and drop them on the front panel. Bad point is it comes with a white background instead of a transparent one.

You can either use a photo editor to change the white to transparent, or simply change the front panel to a white background so that everything blends in.

Hope this helps!

hi and thanks for replying

how do i change the background to white?

And I'm suppose to place LEDs around the octagon. But the white background covers the LEDs as well. How do i make the LEDs appear on top of the background.

Hi odsnot,

You can change object (or background) colors by using the tools palette.

Go to View >  Tools Palette to make the tools palette visible on the screen.

(take a look at clipboard01.jpg and clipboard02.jpg)

Have some fun while you're at it. 😃

You can use the "Reorder" button on the top panel (clipboard03.jpg) to change the position of your objects on the front panel, much like how you would arrange objects in MS Powerpoint or MS Word.

Hope this helps!

You can define a transparent color in PP. Same the file as wmf and you can get the transparency.
