How to reduce LV8.5 Installer size

Hi everybody:

I created my application with Labview8.5,  the size of the stand-alone application is only  177KB.

Build a installer with LV8.5 runtime engine checked in Additional Installers,  the size is 70.8MB.

As the application I/O is RS232 ports, so the  NI-VISA Runtime4.2 also need to included in the installer, the final size is 95.4MB

This size of the file is not nice for the user download from web. 

I noticed there are lots of components in LV8.5 runtime engine and NI-VISA Runtime  that would never be used by my application. Is there any ways to configure the runtime engine and NI-VISA for build a installer?

Who could tell me how to reduce the size of the installer?

I noticed there are some discussions about the size of the installer, it seems no good solution. 😞

Hi Anna,
That's right, we have to live with this big installer packages. The solution for me is to build the installer without the Runtime Engines and to inform the user to additionally install LV_RTE & NI VISA, if needed. Since they only have to be installed once, multiply downloading the App- installer is then easier.

Although this is not nice solution but at least we have another choice.

Hope NI will work out a better solution to reduce the size of the installer. It seems lots of request for this.
