Dennis, thank you for the explanation on how i could do it with a for loop. I guess i didnt realize that the channel read would also need to be included into the for loop. That makes sense because the pulse measurement vi doesnt get updated unless the read is also in the for loop.
I attached a jpeg of the working VI incase someone in the future has a similar question
