How to trace VISA-messages of LV-runtime-program?

Hello,

i have a windows 7 system with a labview-runtime-program. Installed is only labview runtime 2009 and visa runtime 4.0. (The program controls an instrument over VISA).

What do i have to install additionally to trace the messages that are send from the runtime-program to the instrument?

On my other computer there i have NI-Max where i have someting in the Tools-menue.

So i thought i just install also MAX from the DeviceDrivers-CD.... Now i have MAX installed but everything is empty (No Tools, no SW is displayed, no instruments).

Do i have to install also NI VISA? I tried to install VISA 4.02 but this is not compatible to Windows 7.

NI I/O Trace cannot be installed separately. It comes bundled with various NI drivers. You will need the full version of VISA to install trace.  There may be Licenses fees.  Contact your local NI Rep

I simply downloaded NI VISA from NI website and uninstalled currently used the visa-runtime.

Now i have NI I/O Trace and can see all messages.
