How to transfer data from one executable to another on the same machine?

I�m running one executable (1) for data logging. On the same machine there will be another executable or vi (2) running that will also be data logging. I need to transfer portions of the data from .exe (1) to .exe or vi (2). What would the simplest way to achieve that?

I think that the simplest thing to use is Datasocket but the TCP/IP option isn't so difficult either. There's shipping examples of both.
