it takes 5 sec. to connect with TCP/IP. What can I do to connect it faster?

I try to use TCP/IP for comm between LabVIEW and HT-BAsic on WINDOWS2000. The problem is the long time for connect tcp/ip. During this time LabVIEW is not able to perform other tasks. What can do to connect faster?

There's a couple things to try to isolate the cause of the delay. First run the Data Client and Data Server examples on the same machine. Then run your LV program and the HT-Basic program on the same pc. Run Data Client and Data Server on the different pc's across the network. By doing these steps, you should be able to determine whether your local TCP/IP configuration, the HT-Basic implementation, or the network is at fault. If it's the network, it could be because of traffic or maybe firewalls you're going through.

Are you using the TCP Wait On Listener node in LabVIEW? If so, try wiring the 'resolve remote address' input to False. For more information, see http://messages.info-labview.org/1999/12/14/19.html.
