How would NI CAN help in automotive domain?

Hi Friends,

Can somebody give more info or URL about the NI CAN?

Since i am working in an embedded automotive domain and the next project i am going to handle involves the interfacing with the CAN and Netway tool.

Right now my plan is to intiate the CAN thru some VB application and write the text to .txt file.

But i heard from one of my colleague that NI-CAN will do some wonders in the datalogging and CAN diagnostic testing.

So please let me know if anybody have come across a similar scenario,
