I am trying to run the readGPStimepositonvelosity. vi , The vi will not recognize my USB port. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi all,
I am trying to run the ni "readGPStimepositonvelosity.vi", to get a nema 0183 string from my brunton atlasMNS GPS, but I cannot get the Visa channel to read my USB port.  I know that the GPS is communicating because I can see the sentence in hyperterminal.  The vi does exactly what I would like but will not see any input from the USB at all.  Any help would be appreciated.  (I have used an RS-232 to USB adapter because my laptop does not have an serial port.)
Thanks, JoePat

May be you are not trying to access the right serial port. Use the attached vi to find out were it is (credits to Dan Mondrik)...

Hi again,
I downloaded the vi but 7.1 does not recognize it as a vi.  I tried to run the original vi and then look at hyperterminal, hyperterminal said the port was being used.  I just don't know if I am not addressing the port or I have a problem with the vi.  thanks for the help, I am still working on the problem.  JoePat

Seems that there has been a mistake with the provided link. Try again with that one :
