I installed VISA 5.1.1 Run-Time Engine, but Build Specifications is asking for the DVD to install the product.

Solved!

I downloaded and installed VISA 5.1.1 Run-Time Engine.

When I go to Build Specifications, NI-VISA Runtime 5.1.1 shows as an Additional Installer.

However, when I select NI-VISA Runtime 5.1.1, it asks if I have the "National Instruments System Driver - September 2011" DVD because the "additional installer is not on the computer".

Thanks.

Hi Dalep,

Which version of LabVIEW are you running?

According the the KnowledgeBase article How Do I Stop the Missing Distribution Notification Each Time I Build An Installer? from our website, you need to make sure that the entire contents of the source to your hard drive.  You will not be able to edit the Install source location under the Advanced Installers tab, but you should be able to get through the error you are receiving and it will prompt you for the location of the source during Build.

Hi,

I am running Labview 2011.

I found the problem.  I downloaded NI-Serial.  Then the build worked.

I assume when I selected the VISA5.1.1 Run-Time Engine as an additional install, the build looked for related products.  But, the error message gave no indication that the problem was with some product besides the VISA Run-Time Engine.

Thanks for the help.
