IDDC error Keithley 2000

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi all,

I have a command problem with Keithley 2000 DMM by using LV 8.6. Namely, even by using of the drivers downloaded from NI site, i can not initialize the DMM displaying error 961 on the screen.

I tried to communicate via M&A explorer, and  i send *IDN? query it responses the same error at the first time and when i perform the IDN query second time it doesnt give an error. I have no idea whats going on.

any help is appreciated.

Thanks

I guess you have to communicate via RS232, please check the configuration then.

There are several other threads where people successfully communicate with this instrument via the instrument drivers.

Also check if you installed the right one, or maybe try another one.

There are two plug and play drivers one of which is project style. They would be different?

I don't know both of them because I don't have the hardware to test.

Did you also search for a driver via Tools>Instrumentation>Search for Instrument Driver?

Whats going on with the serial configuration?

You should also look into the K200's firmware version and installed options.  Unless this is a new device that you just got.  I've seen some odd behaviours with some older units that did not recieve updates from Keithley
