IMAQdx continuous acq of firewire DVCAM

Solved!

Hello everybody,

I have an (old) analogic  Hamamatsu interline CCD camera C5985 where the frames are digitalized by a DVCAM sony DSR11. The digital video output is connect on Firewire PCI card into the PC, and on a TV

With the visoin acquisition wizard, I get continuously these frames and obtain this kind of interlace frame instead of obtain an homogenous spot

RubyFluo1.PNG

It seem to display only one part of the frame, no ?

How can I do to avoid this interlacement ?

Thanks a lot !

Hello Kalakuta1982,

could you give more information about your setup? Which version of Vision Aquisition Software/IMAQdx are you using?

Best regards

Hello,

I have installed  LV2013 32bits and the augoust2013 NI DRIVER which contains the lastest IMAQdx version, on a Win7 64bits PC

The DV signal form the DSR11 is sent by firewire to a  SmartDisk FireWire/USB 2.0 PCI Expansion Card (relatively old) into the PC.

The driver use for this PCI card is 1394 OHCI Compliant Host Controller (legacy) (directly installed by Win7)

With NI MAX, I can see the camera as : Microsoft DV camera and VCR.

After then I acquire continuously the frame in a Vi, and I can see the movie...

But sometimes or the most of the time the displayed frame have lan interlacement like the picture above. And As I perform 2D calcul frame by frame,  it's complicate to take account this interlacement.

i think there is a synchronisation problem between the DV signal and the continous acquisition of Labview, because the rate displayed seems to change a little bit around 25fps...

Have you an idea on it ?

Thanks!

Hello Kalakuta1982,

thank you for your elaboration. There was an update this month to the Vision Aquisition Software. It's worth a try to update and see if it fixes the issue. You can download it here:
http://www.ni.com/download/ni-vision-acquisition-software-2014.02/4584/en/

The little information on the Hamamatsu C5985 says, it has only RS-232C and SCSI interfaces. How do you connect it to the SONY DSR11? Do you make a tape first?

Otherwise, does the interlaced picture happen only in continuous aquisition or also in snapshot mode? What should be seen on the picture?

Best regards

Hello AndGar,

Thanks a lot for your attention and reply,

I have install the Vision Acq update and all seem to be ok. I have now an homogenous spot as you can see :

RubyFluo2.jpg

There is not interlacement now !

About the C5985 camera, there is also an analogic video output (coaxial connector)  whitch can directly coupled on a TV monitor and the DSR11 with a basic Coaxial / RCA adaptor.

Thanks again ,

Best regards,

Kalakuta
