Hi Ed,
First, make sure that the logical name you use in your application matches the one you created in MAX. The name is case-sensitive.
To check if the IVI Configuration Server is installed properly, highlight the 'IVI Drivers' category in MAX and click on the 'Information' tab at the bottom of the window.
If this doesn't help, contact our Instrument Drivers group at NI directly at instrument.drivers@ni.com and attach your IviConfigurationStore.xml file (C:\Program Files\IVI\Data).
