Image processing

Hi guys,

I  come from Viet Nam. I am a student and I am studying Image Processing with Labview by myself. But I have a problem that I do not know how to trigger an area of a picture. Please give me your suggestion. Thank guys so much, my picture is below and I need to trigger license plate of motorbikes.

This is a relatively advanced topic.  Have you more-or-less "mastered" LabVIEW?  Do you have CLAD, or, better, CLD Certification?  [Or do you think you could pass these exams?].  How are you on complex statistical analyses involved in pattern matching?  There are some examples of this problem on the Web and possibly in some of the LabVIEW Vision examples (go look).  A few years ago, a similar question was asked on this Forum -- you might search the Forum, as well.

You'll need a lot more information than you've provided.

Will the license plates always be the same type? (so you can make a color plane of the picture to find them)

Will they always be in the same location?

Do you just want to find images of plates or do you want to have the application read them?  If you want them read, do you expect to see the same font for OCR purposes?

Will your image require calibration to get everything appearing to be at the same angle?

What do you mean by trigger an area of a picture?  The picture is already taken.  Triggering refers to making the camera take an image at the point of the trigger.  A specific area of an image is the Region of Interest (ROI).

I realize there's a bit of a language barrier.  But, we'll be more helpful if we understand your problem a bit better.  Additionally, it'll help to know if you have access to the Vision Development Module or just the Vision Acquisition Software
