Does anyone know if its possible to impement an SSI interface using a Win XP PXI rack with a PXI-6251 doing the clock out / data in?
I need 20 bits @ approximately 10uS / bit and maybe 1mS or more inter message gap.
I can generate the clock train easy enough by making a digital waveform and writing it to the port but don't know if it's possible to set up the data input pin to capture the data triggered on each low going pulse of the clock waveform.
Timing the SSI interface with software is a couple orders of magnitude too slow so I have to use hardware timing and the test isn't worth investing in Labview RT.
Any ideas are greatly appreciated - Thanks, Frank

You can mess around for a few days trying and maybe make it work or just shell out the same investment in $ and add a http://www.pca-aus.com.au/persistent/catalogue_files/products/SSI2USB.pdf SSI2USB device.

It seem like you should be able to setup the DI sample clock to use an external signal on either edge of the signal.
