There is no need for a LabVIEW patch in order to perform port I/O under
operating systems that permit it, such as Windows 95. The accessHW.zip
example is an example of how you can use the a special kernel-mode driver
with the LabWindows/CVI run-time engine in order to achieve port I/O on
Windows NT, a system that restricts access to memory-mapped devices.
So, if you're looking to do port I/O under NT without using a kernel-mode
driver provided by the hardware manufacturer, you'll need the accessHW.zip
download, or something like it. You shouldn't need any special LabVIEW
patch, regardless of version.
