Including NI-DAQmx Setup

Hi,

I have the following problem. I have an application where i would like to have a setup for, in the application im using NI-USB6501 USB Adapter. Thats why it says, if i want to install the application on a (fresh) pc, that he needs the NI-DAQmx Drivers (i think).

Im have the NI-DAQmx Setup CDs here, but i think it should be possible to include the installation into the setup process. There is the option in the "Include National INstruments intallers" section, but it needs a file there and it doesnt tell me which one.

So does anyone know a solution to this ?

greetings,
Blanky

Well Blanky, if I am understanding you correctly you are saying that you are building an installer to install a program that makes use of DAQmx, and you need to include NI-DAQmx in the install.  When you try to install this it prompts you to put the device drivers disk into the disk drive and you need to be sure that the disk you place in the disk drive has the exact same version of DAQmx that you used to write your software.  If you originally installed DAQmx 8.6 but upgraded to DAQmx 8.7 before writing this software then you will need to use the DAQmx 8.7 disk.  I find that the easiest way to do this is to use the DVD with both the LabVIEW install and all device drivers on it, the installer will be able to grab what it needs it from that disk as apposed to having to insert each of the three device drivers disks.

Ok, thanks.

But first of all I have another problem. I have to get the installation in the setup in the first place. Currently, if im putting the check in the box besides DAQmx then it takes a given path on a cd, (its a company notebook, someone else installed it), its another cd that im using. The installer wants some file where he can install it from but it doesnt tells me what it needs, i tried the setup.exe and .msi files, and several other, but he throws out an error message if its the wrong file (again, not including the filename only some kind of hash code)
