Incorrect Front Panel color displayed when I turn the VI into an executable

I'm using LabVIEW 6.1 for Linux (RedHat Linux 7.2). I'm using the Application Builder to build an executable. The front panel background color of the top-level VI changes when it becomes an executable. I'm using a light gray for the front panel background, as well as for the background of some of the various buttons on the panel. The light gray looks perfect when I run the VI. However, when I build and run the associated executable, the light gray becomes a very dark gray. It's quite a contrast. Any suggestions?

In the VI Properties under Window Appearance, make sure the "Use System Color for Panel" checkbox is not selected in the "Custom Window Appearance" dialog box.

If it's not that, it sounds like maybe some sort of Linux strangeness...

This could be some "Linux strangeness" (I like that!) on your system. Linux does not always retain development environment preferences in the executables. This KnowledgeBase on NI's wesbite talks about this. You can just change your .exe's settings how you want them.
