Installing LINX error code 8

Hi there,

I am trying to download the LINX package through the VIPM but keep getting an error message saying unable to install with error code 8. Here is the full error message:

Main Package Name: NI LabVIEW LINX Toolkit v1.0.0.9
Package Name with Error: NI LabVIEW LINX Toolkit v1.0.0.9
Error Message: VIPM could not install the package ni_labview_linx_toolkit-1.0.0.9 .
Error Code: 8
Error Source: Delete in 9EDBBD2B992503F5E1BEE944BF726A57->E80C6C79E2825D14672C8F35C1DCFFBB->F7C4E276637B8E633B6AFDD1EF2CE94A->OGPM Class.lvlib:9379CFD8CA331CF0E38A98FA9D7316C6->OGPM Class.lvlib:D5B6EB965D0BC09274E3E5144188318D->C816626B524CF3DD3AA4372A60C7FF8E->VIPM Main Window.vi<APPEND>
C:\Program Files (x86)\National Instruments\LabVIEW 2020\resource\Framework\Providers\LINX_lvrealtime.mxx. File Path: "C:\Program Files (x86)\National Instruments\LabVIEW 2020\resource\Framework\Providers\LINX_lvrealtime.mxx".
===============

The solution I found on another forum was to run everything as an administrator so I changed the compatibility settings on my NI programmes but this did not fix the issue.

What else am I missing here?

Thanks

#1 Why are you trying install such an old version.  Isn't LINX up to version 3 or something like that?

#2 If this is LabVIEW Community Edition, why are you trying to install it at all?  (It's included.)

1. this is the version that comes up on the VIPM which is an NI package, unless you are talking about the digilent one?

2. I do not have the community edition

Interesting.  I see that standalone LINX has been updated to be compatible with LV 2020.  What "bit-ness" is your LV?  32?  64?  LINX will only work on 32-bit LV.

Sorry to disappoint you, but I am responding to say only that I have read your response.  I don't have an answer for you, unfortunately.  😞
