Instrument Library not showing up in Instrument i/o pallet

Hey all,
I just downloaded a driver from the California Instruments website (for the Lx series of power supply) and installed the .exe file to my PXI system (no internet).

What do I have to do to make the library available through the instrument i/o pallet?

I don't see it in MAX either.

I've searched for hours and haven't found anything helpful yet. Please point me in the right direction.

Thanks!

What is the exe file? Is it a self-extracting zip? What happened when you ran the exe? If the driver is a native LabVIEW one, then the llb or project should be placed in the \instr.lib folder after unzipping it. If it's an IVI driver, then it could have been placed in the x:\VXIpnp folder and you would have to create the LabVIEW driver from the dll and .h file. Could you provide some more information about what you actually downloaded? A link to the download would be nice.

Your hint about putting the .dll in the library directory was just what I needed!

To quench your curiosity, I downloaded the driver from the California Instruments website. The .exe does apear to just extract all the files into a directory, however it puts it under the \programfiles\IVI folder by default instread of the LabVIEW 8.2\instr.lib, I didn't know to change the location. Now the files are all in an accessible place through the Instrument I/O pallet.

Thanks for the help!
