Is even/odd parity broken on Serial Port Init.vi?

I'm using the Serial Port Init.vi and Serial Write.vi from the PDA library.  However, it doesn't matter how I set the parity setting (even parity or odd parity) the data coming out of the serial port is the same.  Is there a bug in these library VI's or do I have a hardware issue?  How can I determine where the fault is located?

I'm using Labview/Labview PDA 7.1 running on Windows 2K and synching to a DAP CE5320X handheld computer (running CE.net 4.2).  The serial port is Lemo1.  I'm capturing TXD on an oscilloscope for debug.

Hi Drew1005,

This is a known issue with PDA 7.1 which was fixed in LabVIEW PDA 8.0.  What you are probably observing is odd parity, where changing the parity to even parity, simply does not chage the mode, i.e, you can only use odd parity.

If you are interested in more information about upgrading to LabVIEW PDA 8.0, please check out the following webpage: http://ohm.ni.com/advisors/ua

Apologies for the inconvenience,
AG, National Instruments.
