Is it advantageous to advance to Vista 64-bit with LabView 8.2?

Hello,
I am new to LabView and to dealing with memory allocation and need a bit of help understanding some things. From what I found in other threads on this forum, it looks like LabView 8.2 will function in Vista 64-bit, but only as a 32-bit application, addressing only 2 GB memory or less. However, the IMAQ drivers we have are Vision Acquisition 8.5.1, so should function well in 64-bit OS, accessing more memory.
So, if LabView can not access more than 2 GB memory, but the hardware drivers are new and can be used on a 64-bit system, what will happen if I use them together? We need to build an application for acquisition of large image files and as close to real-time processing as we can get. Will it give us any advantage to use a 64-bit Vista, with about 16 GB memory, if we have LabView 8.2? I mean, can the LabView and image acquisition software work together using more memory than in 32-bit OS, or is it useless to buy a 64-bit OS until new LabView version is released to support it?

Thank you,
Maria

I don't have much input as to the 64-bit thing, I just wanted to respond to make sure you have 8.2.1. The "point 1" made 8.2 Vista compatible.
They (NI) are developing a 64-bit version, being the Pioneers that they are ( Smiley Wink ), so I'd say wait.
