What is discouraging is that when you install Labview 7.1 it gives the option of installing support for Labview RT 7.0. If the two can't play nice together what is the point of the option?
The LabVIEW RT 7.0 support that they offer to install isn't from LabVIEW. It's from the DAQ drivers. NI-DAQ ships with support for several version of LabVIEW and other products so you don't have to download several different drivers to get everything you need.
