Is it possible to use VST or SG as a tracking generator?

The system currently in use is as follows.

• PXIe-8880 Controller
• PXIe-5840 Vector Signal Transceiver
• PXIe-5652 RF Signal Generator

Is it possible to use the RF OUT of the PXIe-5840 or PXIe-5652 as a tracking generator and the RF IN of the PXIe-5840 as a spectrum analyzer for simple network analysis?

As you can see from the block diagram of PXIe-5840, that RF-in and RF out are separated, so you can use them in parallelly. 

Additionally, keep in mind to use proper caballing.
