I just got the email about 8.5 and took a look at the features that were added. I'm really surprised there isn't more discussion about it. These new features look great. Conditional for loops, auto-populating folders (woohoo! I've been asking for this since the first time I made a project), this new in place element structure (looks interesting), the new cross-linking resolution tools.
Maybe I'm becoming too much of a LabVIEW nerd, but I got really excited reading about this stuff. It's always good to see a software company as big as NI listening so intently to its users and giving them a release like this with a lot of incredibly useful features that have been requested.
I'm downloading it overnight (slow connection at work), I'll test it out tomorrow. I can't wait to add the synchronizing folders to all my projects.

The in-place structure and the State Chart tool are going to become part of my life.
We have been using the State Diagram Editor in most of our project, but the new State Chart seems ( I only did a very limited Beta test) like a step up.
