LV 8: Read from Text File function looses refnum when ERROR = TRUE

hi there

i'm using LV 8.0 PDS.

When calling the "Read from Text File" of "Write to Text File" functions with an error and a refnum <> NULL the functions set the refnum to NULL. see attachment.

The Binary File IO functions seem to work properly.

could someone please confirm this?

I see the same behaviour on LV8. Binary doesn't loose the refnum but Text does.

Well, you could also downgrade, since the bug doesn't seem to happen in 7.1.

oh no, i prefer to improve.....

to be honest, the app was written originally in 7.1 with the old school File IO functions, but the upgrade to 8.0 transformed it to the new functions, and then the bug appeared. i read text files in chunks of 4KB, then the EOF error should occur at the last chunk which i catched, but the errorcode was 1 because the refnum turned to NULL.
