LabVIEW 2012 DAQ assistant missing

Solved!
Go to solution

Hello,

I just installed LabVIEW 2012 and the DAQmx driver for my USB-6008 and there is no DAQassistant in my LabVIEW menu.

I have searched for it using the search function of the menu, but it is not there.

I installed LabVIEW before DAQmx as instructed on the NI website.

Thanks in advance!

You did not provide some critical information - the version of DAQmx that you installed. It should be 9.6 to support 2012.

Hi Dennis,

Thank you for the quick response!

I thought I downloaded the latest one. In the software section of Measurement and Automation Explorer, it says DAQmx device driver is 9.5.1.

I will try to find DAQmx 9.6 and install it.

Version 9.6 works! Thanks!

When I installed version 9.5.1, I thought it was the latest version because it was at the top of the version list and it says "latest measurement services driver" right on the download! Please see the link below.

http://search.ni.com/nisearch/app/main/p/bot/no/ap/tech/lang/en/pg/1/sn/catnav:du,n8:3478.41,ssnav:s...

I didn't bother looking down because I saw the words "latest measurement services driver". It is rather confusing that many are labeled that way.

Thanks for setting me straight!

Hmmm. .....

I was having the same troubles with a recent installation of 2012, and the Device Drivers disk I have only has DAQmx v. 9.5.5 on it.  It is installing now - we'll see soon if it works.

I have the same problem, but I installed NI-DAQ 9.6.1. Still there is no DAQ Assist.  Can I force LabView to search and update its list of installed modules/VIs?

This article discusses how to troubleshoot missing functions palette icons and menus:

This is a good tutorial on creating custom palette:

Hope this helps!
