LabVIEW 8.2 had been working with my MacBook Pro. However, since upgrading to OS X 10.9.4, it no longer launches successfully. I have tried reinstalling LabVIEW. However, LabVIEW never completes the inital start-up. Here is the beginning of the crash message:

As far as I can tell, noting out of the ordinary happened during installation of the O/S upgrade. V. 8.2 was working well under the previous O/S version and there were no errors or warnings during the re-installation after the problem occurred.

It is possible that the Preferences file has been corrupted. Try deleting the preferences file.
Restarting LabVIEW will automatically generate the preferences file with the default settings.

Thanks for the suggestion but there is no LabVIEW preferences file in the indicated folder on my Mac. I even did a deletion of the current installation and a complete re-install and the same problem recurrs. It happens after the "initializing plug-ins" step appears on the splash screen.

According to this document LV 8.2 was barely compatible with OS X 10.4 and 10.5.
I suspect that you have reached somehwat beyond the place where LV 8.2 can be used on the Mac. I have run it on OS X 10.8.5, but very little. It was already installed under an older OS version, so I do not know if the installer would run. I presume you have worked around Apple's "security" against software not found at the App Store.
Here is a link for finding the preferences file.

I did remove the file but it made no difference.

I also tried using the "control open" sequence for opening the application and that made no difference.
