LabVIEW 8.6.1: nilvaiu.dll DLL initialization routine failed

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi Teri,

I can understand your frustration, so we'll try to get to the bottom of this. A few things I'll need to know are your DAQmx driver version, whether this error only occurs when running VIs with DAQmx functions, and what OS you are using. Also, are you still unable to open MAX?

You stated earlier that you had unistalled all NI software from your computer. Did this involve using MSI blast?

Thanks!

Please see my other post:

I wish I could combine the two!

I sent my event logs to NI Support today, unfortunately it's to another new person. I hope they're keeping their notes straight since it's the third tech support person in one week's time.

Thanks for any help.

Hey guys,

I'm wondering if this issue was ever resolved. I just installed Labview 2009 on the computer and I'm getting the attached error when I open one of my written applications. The application is communicating with the DAQ card as well. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

After about a month and a half of going back and forth with Heather from NI (who was great to work with), it boiled down to the following:

Entering the following from a command prompt:

sc delete nipalk
sc create nipalk binPath= System32\drivers\nipalk.sys type= kernel start=
boot

Note the spaces after each equals sign. Reboot after making those changes.

I now can set up virtual devices on my system along with remote systems.

Hope this works for you.

There is more than one possible cause. If you have 4 GB or more of ram and are running a 32-bit version of Windows, it is probably the PAE issue. Otherwise it is likely driver corruption or a configuration problem. Post some more details about your system.

I have same problems. WinXP 3P, Labview 8.6.1, DAQ9.2.0.

I try LV8.5, DAQ from 8.9 to 9.2. reinstall all of them several time. Using MSIbalst or other software.

none of them work.

when no nilvaiu.dll issue, my computer can not reconginze the usb6211. It just was shown as diver Loader.

Crzy.

You'll have to contact NI...if you don't have a valid service package, we didn't, ask your salesman to set up a free 30-day one (that's what we did). You'll have to download a couple of free programs, run and save logs for them so they can determine what is going on. Took awhile for me, going back and forth, but the problem was finally solved. I dealt with Heather who was extremely helpful and patient.

Hope you get it solved...I know it drove me crazy for two months!

Thanks. I use a university licenses.  I don’t think they can give me a free service. But it works well on my laptop.  So , it is ok for me.

After I turned on the Device load sever from the administration tool, it works on my desktop too.
