Hi Audra,
I want to check things off you:
1. You have LabVIEW 8.6 installation files? I believe yes.
2. You have DAQmx version x.x installation files? Do you managed to download it completely?
3. I wonder what do you mean by LabVIEW 8.6 wont accept it? can you print the screenshots?
Measurement IO would not shown up (empty box) if you have not install any device drivers (DAQmx or Traditional DAQ or others). Looking forward for your reply!
Sincerely,
Krisna Wisnu

Hello,
Question 1: I have the installation files downloaded and installed
Question 2: I have DAQmx 8.6.1 and they are installed. The screen print shows you the installer
Question 3: The second screen shot is of LabVIEW it show the block diagram tool box. The measurement io box is empty. As for the drivers I think I have them. My computer reconizes the hardware I have connected to the computer.

In the future, please post screenshots directly. Contrary to Microsoft's desires or world domination, not everybody has Word. ![]()
Your screenshot clearly shows you did not install LabVIEW support for DAQmx. All of the installer options for those items are unchecked (have an "X" ). While you may have the hardware drivers, you need to install LabVIEW support in order to program DAQmx in LabVIEW.

Hi Audra,
I believe smercurio_fc is right. What I can suggest you to do is, go to control panel, Add and Remove Programs, National Instruments Software (Change/Remove), New window pop-up, Select NI-DAQmx 8.6 and Remove it. Restart your Computer. Re-install NI-DAQmx 8.6, restart your Computer and after finish booting up, run your LabVIEW and check the Measurement I/O palettes.
Let me know if this works or not.
Sincerely,
Krisna Wisnu
