LabVIEW Jobs

Is there a newsgroup where jobs for experienced LabVIEW programmers are
advertised? (My own interest is in the UK).

Andrew, and everyone else...

I am using the following to look for jobs, both permanent and contract. There are of course limitations. I always use these keywords: "LabVIEW", "ATE", and ""National Instruments"". The sites I use are:

Flipdog.com
jobsearch.monster.com
cjhunter.net (great for contracting!)
local newspaper (useless, San Diego has no decent media, print or broadcast!!!)

I have also contracted with a local staffing agency, and am currently seeking a recruiter.

Additionally, and not to advertise, I also offer staffing services through my consulting firm (just started this year, no work yet, and I'm broke!). When I found out how much these agencies make off of a placement, I realized that 1) I should definitely be in that business,
and 2) what the heck am I doing going through an agency.

Some helpful hints: Try to go directly to the companies doing the hiring, but watch out, some of them don't do anything but go through agencies, probably because of kickbacks to the hr rep from the agency. Also, get an attorney to review your contract if you go through an agency. I had a really bad experience going through an agency that tried to stick me with a contract that would have basically left me unemployed for a year after working through them. Fortunately, they didn't include an damages recover clause, and I was able to get out of the contract limitations without any issues. Also, if you go through an agency that doesn't respect your right to have your contract reviewed by an attorney, then you probably don't want to work for them anyway.

As for positions in the UK, I have seen a great deal of them advertised on Monster.com.

I hope I covered everything, if not, let me know.

Good luck finding a job, I'm
searching hard, and finding very little out there...though it seems to have started to pick up as of this week.
