I have had a message vanish before, the admins couldn't figure out what happened to it.

Did you mixed up this (LabVIEW-NXG-2-1-Beta-Installation-Guides) thread?

No No, I wrote a long message explaining my situation with the crash of labview 2.0.

I've edited it a couple of time 'cause it didn't allow to atatch crash report.

However...
I was explaining my situation with labview 2.0 crash.

Following Ni support instruction, I' ve used a msi blaster to uninstall NXG.

Then went to Ni package but NXG was still there so I unistall NXG and all similar packet from there.

Then I reinstalled NXG from an ISO provided by NI support team.

Launching labview NXGthis is what happen:

1)NXG starts and the license window appear (allocated ram= 231Mb)

2)I proceed pressing launch

3) A 3 choices window appear (Lanch a project, Use your Hardware and Learn to program) (allocated ram= 593Mb!!)

4) I select Launch a program and start a nwe VI project

5) Now 2 behavior:

The first time it seems to starts but it went idle with 750Mb allocated ram

From the second time it crash after open the empty project allocating till 944Mb

If someone can decode the crash report i can upload it.

Do either of you have TestStand or the Vision Development Module for LabVIEW NXG beta? At this point, you may consider uninstalling all NXG products, making sure that the Program Files folder is empty, and then try reinstalling.

I have NXG beta 2.1 before I installed 2.0. I already uninstalled all NXG features and will retry installing after our internet speed is ok.

I had the following to successfully install LabVIEW NXG 2.0

  • Remove all the LabVIEW and LabVIEW NXG softwares
  • Delete the National Instruments folder from the Program Files directory
  • Delete the National Instruments folder from the Program Data directory
  • Delete the National Instruments folder from C:\Users\yourname\AppData\Local
  • Remove NI Package Manager.
  • Cleared the missing references from the registry(using CC Cleaner).
  • Install NI Package Manager.
  • Install LabVIEW NXG 2.0

I can't do this because I would reinstall all 2013,2014 and 2016 version with all their modules. All I can clean as of now are the NXG files.

For anyone that may read this thread later and is looking for troubleshooting help, please do not use msiBlast.

Is it safe to assume you've sent support the crash zip file?  If so, feel free to message me your SR and I'll go take a look.

Although, it probably makes more sense to create your own thread than to piggyback on this thread.  The crash they discuss is related to launch.  You sound like you can get past that just fine but see a crash when you start doing things in NXG.  They'd be different crashes.

@FyrewurX,

If you don't want to disrupt your installations of previous versions of LabVIEW, you should still be able to uninstall all NXG products from Package Manager. After doing so, delete any NXG items in the Program Files folder. When you reinstall, start with just NXG 2.0 (no modules or addons) and see if you can get that working successfully.

Yes I've sent it to the support. I try to update it here in the forum but it blocks the message I don't know where to post it. i send it to a private mail of an engineer called by phone and i don't have the SR.

I've posted here 'cause before uninstalling, I can't launch at all, after uninstalling and reinstalling I can get at the first screen in NXG, but it can not start at all anything in NXG.

Today i Found an available UPDATE for NXG.

fingercross...

No way out.

Now it crashes just after the license windows (it doesn't allow me to check the never show again flag in that window)

I finally managed to install NXG 2.0. A number of uninstalls and installs of the full program and on component level, and then it suddenly started without crashing.

With support, I'd hope the SR number is in each of the subjects of the emails they send you.

What ways have you tried to start using NXG from the welcome screen?  Have you tried opening anything and having that load NXG?
