Hi,
i have a simmilar problem as Louis had. I am trying to connect to the TPC 2012 from my PC as it is written in manuals. The problem is that in connection manager in Win XP on my desktop I can see that the PC sends the data to the TPC. but no response comes back fromTPC. I use cross over cable so this is not the reason. I use LabView 8.2 Maybe I should install some additional modules? I'll be grateful if someone could give me sample settings for his desktop connection and TPC 2012 - maybe I am doing something wrong?
Thank you very much in advance.
Regards,
Martin

Hey Martin,
From your description I can't tell what you mean but sending files to but receiving no response. To clarify, do you mean you are able to successfully setup the TPC-2012 as an FTP server and from your desktop, open up Internet Explorer, type in the ip address of the TPC, and then drag and drop files from your desktop to the TPC? If this isn't the problem, then is the issue you're having not being able to drag and drop files from your TPC to your desktop? What response are you expecting? I am not fully sure what process you are doing. If you could please explain maybe a solution will present itself.
Thanks.

Hi David,
thank you very much for your post. I didn't mean sending files but data(or packets). These you can see under Activity in Local Area Connection Status in Windows (Network connections->Local Area Connection). So, in fact my problem is to establish right connection between my desktop and the TPC. From the same desktop and with the same cross over cable I can without any problems get connected to my real time controller in PXI. So I suppose is can be the problem with connection/network settings or there must be some additional software module installed(to be able to establish connection to my real time controller I had to install LabView real time module).
Best regards,
Martin

Hey Martin,
Hope you're having a good day. So when viewing your Local Area Connection>>Status you're seeing data packets sent but no packets received on your desktop machine? Is your desktop configured with a static IP address or is it configured to obtain an IP address automatically? Also, does your TPC get a valid IP address when the connection to your desktop is present? Can you provide the address, subnet, and gateway you're getting for both machines? Also any firewall settings or exceptions you may have active if the firewall is enabled?
I am currently looking into whether or not you have to have any particular module installed for communication with the TPC in LabVIEW 8.2. I'd also like to know what modules and toolkits you do have installed on both the TPC and your desktop?
Thanks,

Hi David,
thank you once again for your help.
So when viewing your Local Area Connection>>Status you're seeing data packets sent but no packets received on your desktop machine? - Yes
Is your desktop configured with a static IP address or is it configured to obtain an IP address automatically?I' ve tried both static IP address and that it obtain IP address automatically, I have also done it with the TPC.
Also, does your TPC get a valid IP address when the connection to your desktop is present? - when TPC is set to obtain adress automatically it gets IP address and then after some time it loses it - it is set to 0.0.0.0, and then it obtains the IP adress again and so on.
Can you provide the address, subnet, and gateway you're getting for both machines?- I've done it, but it didn'e help
Also any firewall settings or exceptions you may have active if the firewall is enabled? - firewall is disabled
I'd also like to know what modules and toolkits you do have installed on both the TPC - TPC is new and I haven't installed there anything.
On my desktop - I have standard Labview 8.2,the real time module is installed. All I know, there are already drivers for TPC2012 in this LabView version. On the included CD I have only drivers for another TPCs.
Thanks,
Martin

Hey Martin,
You do need to have the NI LabVIEW 8.2 Touch Panel Module for Windows CE installed. This software module should have shipped with your TPC device. Did you say the disk you have didn't contain this software?
Thanks,
