LabVIEW cannot detect connected instruments

Hello, I'm currently using LabVIEW 2015 and I just installed the latest version of NI-SCOPE. However, LabVIEW cannot detect the two instruments that are connected to the computer (Their drivers are already installed). Neither instrument also shows up in NI-MAX. How do I fix this?

So you installed the latest version of NI-SCOPE (2023Q1?) to work with a 8 year old version of LabVIEW?

Did you read the manual before installing? Usually NI drivers only support the current LabVIEW version and 3 years before, so I guess "latest NI-SCOPE" only supports LV2020 to LV2023…

What about installing NI-SCOPE 2015-2018?

Best regards,

Hello, I just installed NI-SCOPE version 18.7, and it still did not detect the instruments that were connected to the computer. Am I missing something else? Should I try for more primitive versions of NI-SCOPE? I'm currently downloading NI-SCOPE version 18.6.

Hi user,

is your device supported by those older driver versions? (Again: did you read the manual?)

Edit: NI-Scope vs. LabVIEW compatibility

Best regards,

I read the manual for my devices. They require a minimum of NI-VISA version 5.4. And I just installed NI-VISA version 18.5. I still have the same problems of them not being detected by LabVIEW when I click 'Find Instrument Drivers'.

What are the exact models of the instruments? Are they NI scopes? NI scopes have the model name NI-51xx or 59xx

What are the instruments manufacturer and model?

How are they connected to the computer? (GPIB,USB,Ethernet, serial, etc)

I realized you said "when I click 'Find Instrument Drivers'"?, honestly that never works.

First go to the manufacturers website  and see if they have drivers available, if not then go to the Instrument Driver Network and search for your instrument drivers.

The instruments in question are a sourcemeter (Keithley 2611A, GPIB connected) and a spectrometer (Horiba MicroHR Automated, USB connected). I already have their drivers installed.

Can you see ANY instruments?  Check the passthrough status of each bus you have (in NI-MAX).

I'm assuming that the "PCIe-GPIB" one is the GPIB-connected Keithley sourcemeter, but it says that Windows does not have a driver associated with your device, even though I already installed the drivers for LabVIEW, unless there is a separate driver for Windows. And I'm assuming that the "LPT-1" connection is the HORIBA MicroHR Spectrometer. Are there supposed to be separate drivers for Windows and LabVIEW?
