Hello,
I don't think the mouse software is anything other than what comes with the windows operating system. The mouse is still the older ball type. The only software that I can think of that may be suspect is the software the IT department puts on that controls many aspects of the PC. I had to remove the antivirus software because the IT group does not allow me to disable the antivirus software during installs. I have a colleague working with the IT department determining the best way to do a complete reset of the system and still be company legal.
I noticed another peculiar thing that happens using LabVIEW 8.0. When I try to view the tools pallette it will not show.
I can also add that the older machine that I installed LabVIEW 8.0 and PXI drivers is still operating just fine. I did this to verify that there wasn't some issue with my LabVIEW 8.0 CD. I might add that this machine also uses the same software that the IT department requires, so I could be wrong about my concerns of the IT required software. Thanks.

Hello,
Now I have problems. The same thing is happening to my other PC. I spoke too soon. What ever is happening does not occur right away after installation. The computer and LabVIEW work for awhile then something happens when the computer gets turned off a few times or maybe goes into sleep mode I don't know anymore. This is very frustrating.

Hello,
The saga continues. I installed LabVIEW 8.0 and all of the same drivers onto a laptop. The program works fine on it. The only difference is that I cannot actually hook up to my PXI using the laptop. This may suggest that after I install the MXI-4 and associate each piece of hardware with its driver that something happens. It will still work right away, but when the computer goes to standby or gets shutdown something happens that creates a problem when I start-up. I also noticed that the PC with the MXI-4 card in it will not turn off during shutdown. It says windows is shutting down and then locks up. I have to use the hold-button turn off routine.
NI is still as puzzled as I am, but I think someone familiar with the hardware might be able to look at the system information and hardware resources and see if there is something that I am not familiar with. Does this seem possible or do I have to keep trying diferent things and hope I get lucky? Thanks.

Hello,
I think I have it working. The machine I finally got LabVIEW working on is a Hewlett Packard Kayak XU800. What I had to do to make it work is install LabVIEW first and restart the PC. Then I installed the drivers and restarted the PC. Then I unplugged all of the cards in the PXI chassis except the MXI-4 card. I inserted the MXI-4 PCI card into the PC (PC off of course) and turned on the PXI chassis and then the PC. The PC recognized the hardware and associated it to its driver. Next I shut down the PC and PXI chassis and plugged in the next PXI card. I restarted the PXI and PC and it recognized the new hardware and associated it to its driver. I did this procedure for all nine of my PXI cards and verified that LabVIEW was still working between each step of the way.
I would like to thank those who helped me figure this out. Thanks again.
