Hi Everyone,
Your answers are essentially correct, but let me clarify.
LabVIEW Real-Time Module gives you the ability to work with LabVIEW Real-Time targets such as FieldPoint, PXI, cRIO, and certain desktop computers once formatted properly. Those targets can run either the Phar Lap ETS or VxWorks real time operating systems as stated in
KnowledgeBase 4LRA4IQ0: What Operating System is my Real-Time Controller Running and Why?LabVIEW Real-Time Module is for development of LabVIEW VIs to run on those NI Real-Time targets is only supported in the operating systems as listed in the
LabVIEW Module and Toolkit Compatibility Information. Also see the
LabVIEW and
LabVIEW Real-Time Module release notes and readmes.
National Instruments software does not officially support RedHawk Linux, but you might be able to get LabVIEW (not the LabVIEW Real-Time Module (which you don’t need since you do not want to work with NI Real-Time targets)) to work, but we don’t guarantee any results or support it. However, if you feel this would be a useful feature I ask that you create a product suggestion at the
NI Product Suggestion Center.
I hoped that clarified it….
