Hello all, quick question. I have a customer who recently purchased LabView 2016 Basic package and needed it to communicate with a Red Lion CSMSTRLE (control station) which has some IO cards attached. I sold him this not knowing that he had the basic Labview and he is not willing to upgrade to be able to utilize the Modbus TCP option. Is there another option that he could do that would not require him or his IT to have to right alot of code to just get communication? The Red Lion can do 300 different protocols but not sure what to have him try. Also on a side note is Watlows Standard Bus communication protocol standard on the LabView 2016 basic? Thanks and sorry for what is probably a very minor question.

I am not really (at all) familiar with Modbus for LabVIEW, but if I understood your post the problem is that, the LabVIEW Base Edition (not Basic) does not have option for Modbus? I guess you mean the DSC Toolkit?
If so, in the following document you can read about the different ways how to deal with Modbus in case of LabVIEW. Some of the options are available using LabVIEW Base Edition too as much as I see (so no DSC needed).
