Labview 6i installer running for no reason

I have Labview 6i installed on my machine. Every time I turn the computer on, the Labview 6i installer starts to run. The Labview installer CD is not in the CD-ROM. Also, every time I open a new window in Internet Explorer, the installer starts to run. Labview has been installed and running on this machine for months, but this problem just began recently. Nothing on the machine has changed, to my knowledge. What can I do to prevent the installer from trying to run all the time? Thanks.

I have noticed the same problem, when I open programs that use axtive X objects. Specifically when I launch a VI that uses a 3D graph, or a specific application that has an Active X database OCX in it.

There might be some registry entry that is not being properly cleared out. Check in your registry under HKEY_Local_Machine\software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\ and see if there are any entries that pertain to LabVIEW in the Run, RunOnce, RunServices, etc entries. You could also check in things like the Windows.ini file or AutoExec.bat files to see if there's anything odd there.

The installer is self-healing,various reasons, most common is things like installed under different profiles than run (installed via admin run via user) or you are in an environment that uses roaming profiles but dont allow profiles to cache.
