Cannot save VI as the same name as missing library member VI
If a library contains a VI and the VI is missing, you should be able to save a VI as the same name as the missing VI in order to rebuild the missing VI. Currently, LabVIEW does not allow this.

Workaround—Delete the item from the library, save the new VI as the same name as the missing VI and then move the VI into the library.

Dont you guys feel this is a bit of irritation?

Ni Week?

NIWeek would be the right answer, but it's also a legitimate answer - you can't squash all bugs. Do you see any critical issues in that list which should delay the release?

Note - I'm not refering to what the release date should be. How frequently NI should release new versions is another discussion, but once a release date is set, they should meet it unless something happens. A list of known issues is not something which should prevent that, because not all issues are critical, most probably have workarounds and some could require a lot of work to fix.

Sounds very practical to me tst. The release next version need not get delayed due to a list of  known issues(not critical) when there are lot of additional beneficial features with it. By the way the known issues are something that we have accepted to live with isnt it?Smiley Wink

I've downloaded a software update (not going to name the piece of software or the maker, for their sake 😉 ) that had a 'known issue' that involved it crashing before it got to a point which allowed user input. So basically, they released a version in which the known issue was that it was impossible to use! It taught me well to read through the upgrade notes before proceeding 😄

But yes, I agree that the list of known issues is not so critical as to delay 8.6. As long as one of the known issues isn't something like "LabVIEW crashes during startup. There is no workaround."

My favorite new feature of LV 8.6 is Quick-Drop. If you haven't seen the video, it can be found here.

I am looking forward to mastering that new tool. Smiley Happy
