My computer died and I got a new one and loaded Labview 8 and NI-DAQmx ver 7.4 but my old programs and even Labview examples can't find basic VI modules like "Create Virtual Channel". It seems like Labview does not know where to look to find these basic building blocks. I am running Windows XP Professional on the computer.

Hi,
according to the readme file of the NI-DAQmx 7.4, this version is only compatible with LabVIEW 7.x. (http://download.ni.com/support/softlib//multifunction_daq/nidaqmx/7.4/readme.html)
If you have LabVIEW 8.0, you can try installing the NI-DAQmx 8.6.1:

Hi Gary.
NI-DAQmx 7.4 is not supported with LabVIEW 8.0. See the following KnowledgeBase:
NI-DAQ and LabVIEW Version Compatibility (for Windows)
http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/B0D5630C0A50D5C6862578E800459248
This is also mentioned in the readme file for the NI-DAQmx 7.4:
http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/id/337/lang/da
If you are using LabVIEW 8.0 you should install NI-DAQmx 8.7.1, which is the lastest driver that will work with LabVIEW 8.0:
http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/id/965/lang/da
Let me know if this solves the problem.

You are correct. Thanks. I knew it had to be something simple since the basic building blocks were not being found. But it would have taken me a long time to figure it out without your input. Thanks very much.
