Labview application that uses RS232 port not working on windows 7

Try using a terminal program like Termite or Putty to talk to the instrument. If that works but the LabVIEW one doesn't, it's a LabVIEW issue. If the terminal program doesn't work then it's a Windows issue and you might need to install a different driver for your COM port.

So something interesting happened I was so frustrated that I thought what the hell let's try the software on win10 machine and voila it worked! Didn't have to install anything else, though it only worked with USB to serial adapter and not with the onboard COM port for some reason. And I can't explain why a win XP program runs fine in Win10 but not in Win7.
