Labview freezes while loading a subvi in edit mode

I just repaired LabVIEW, and haven't used it a lot yet but it seems to be better now. And to Ben, yes my sub-VIs that hang-up contain VISA references.

Refresh MAX. You may be hanging trying to find a non-existatnt device.

Also make sure you have latest and greatest VISA. There was a bug back then that would cause VISA to hang LV.

Would VISA still hang looking for a non-existant device even tough he said it hangs during edit? I wouldn't expect the default setting of the VISA reference to be queried just by opening the VI for edit, only for a running VI.

In short the answer is "oh yeah". Had a lot of trouble with that when I first started loading old code into V8. Opening the front panel of NI Scope VIs and the like took many minutes...

Well I have the latest VISA version, but the repair I did a few days ago seemed to fix the issue.
