Thank you very much. I changed the keys CuVer and CLSID under Serverlist and ServerList.1 and the installation of both the run time version 7 and also installation of legacy DAQ for Vista and Labview 10 worked,
One problem remains. Legacy DAQ does not find the DAQ-device. How do I configure a legacy device som it can be found when I write a vi using the legacy functions? The device came with a testprogram written in LabView using the version 7 runtime and that program works perfectly so there is no problem with the device.

Hi again Gunnark!
In order to use the Legacy / Traditional DAQ drivers on a Vista machine, there is a beta version (7.5) available. None of the released versions are compatible with any OS beyond Windows XP. For information regarding the beta version of the drivers, please reference the KB linked below. Please also note that support for the beta drivers is only available via email.
Hope this helps.

Thanks,
My problem is resolved. As I finally could instal the runtime 7 of LabView, the manufacturor of the device could help me with software that eliminated the legacy problem in the sense that I can use a special DLL that has the funtionallity I needed. So I neither use NI-DAQmx nor NI-DAQ traditional or legacy. It is something new to learn, but not more complex, rather less , than use the NI methods.

Gunnar
