Labview to talk to a mobile Phone (SMS)

Has anyone Got a version 5.1 or earlier VI that will get a mobile phone to
send an SMS message. Most phones have data cables that you can plug in. Sort
of a paging application that I have in mind. Before I research the phones
and dig up whatever protocal they use , I thought it was worth asking if
anyone had already done it !

Yes , i did in the past using a Nokia Cellular Phone (6110) connected with its cable to the serial port of
PC ,and works fine .
I supposed that the code , written in LV 5.1 works fine also with other Cellular Phone because the commands are quite standard .
If you need the code ( for Free ! 🙂 ) , let me know

Hi Andrea!
Could you post the code to the forum, please!
It would be very helpful.

Yes Please . :-)))

There is some free visual basic code from the nokia website. I was thinking
of using a Nokia 5110 . Just had to turn the VBA code into an active X OCX
file . It seemed to be a long walk around short path. Thanks for the help in
advance .
Leo.

Thanks for the VI . I have the document that explains the AT comands that
the VI uses. However the Phone I have to play with does not come with the AT
command set functionality. Turns out the 5110 uses the Nokia proprietary
Mbus/Fbus , I have some information about it and not been able to get a
response from the Phone yet I still need to get 5110 addressing information
sorted out. If all else fails I will get the more expensive phone. Cheaper
is better in this case though!
Regards
Leo
