I am planning to learn labview by: (by keeping in mind developing fpga or desktop application)

I self-paced core 1, 2, and 3 in one go and didn't feel like I got much out of core 3.  I found core 3 to be much more helpful after a few months when I was much more comfortable with LabVIEW.
