better with lab view

Has anyone seen or tried the Lego Mindstorm software based on Labview?
Is there any way to use Labview itself to program the unit? Thanks

Hi,

I never used the software based on Labview ( Mindlab or Robolab I think
it's called) but I can say for definate that you can use the Lego unit
through LabView.

I don't no whether you can actually program it so to speak but you can run
programs on the unit and send direct commands to the robot (e.g Motor 1 On,
Read sensor 1 etc)

This can all be done through ActiveX in labview. The active x component
needed is spirit.ocx which is installed on your computer when you install
the Lego software that comes with the mindstorms set.

The SDK for spirit.ocx is available on the seb (sorry I can't remember the
address) and provides details of all the available methods and properties.

Yes off corse

In my opinion it ist better to programm the lego mindstorm 1.0 or 2.0 with labview. The origional software for mindstorm ist not the best i think.

cause its a software for children and younger people.

If i became the nxt, i programm it with the software that is in the box. But then i learned in a lab view camp to programm with labview.

lab view is also much better in thinks like complexity. 

I am sorry for wirting and style but i am a from german.
