License server says TCP/IP to be installed

I have installed labview 8.5.1, labview 8.6 DSC and labview 8.6 DSC runtime modules. But in the license manager i do not see the labview DSC module . when i try to activate after installing DSC it says no products require activation. and when i activate by the multiple codes that came on email it says license server needs TCP/IP to be installed. i am running Windows Vista buiseness with TCP working. ( internet is working)

Hi Tanuj,

I am surprised that you could install LabVIEW 8.6 DSC on your PC if you are running LabVIEW 8.5.1. Does this PC have 8.6 installed? As far as I am aware, you would need to install LabVIEW DSC 8.5 to use it within 8.5.1. If you have LabVIEW 8.6, you can save in 8.5.1. by clicking Save in previous versions on the file menu.

No My PC does not have labview 8.6 installed. Can i upgarde this Labview 8.5.1 developer suite  to 8.6 if yes how?

Can i download labview 8.6 evaluation version from the internet and install it on this PC with 8.5.1. Will it be evaluation version only or will it be licensed version?

Hi Tanuj,

You can upgrade but it depends on whether or not you have an upgrade package. Do you have SSP? If not, you will probably have to buy the upgrade. The best idea would be to phone your local NI branch and speak to them.

8.6 is probably not showing up coz of only 8.5.1 installed. contact NI India @ 08041190000 to see if u can upgrade from 8.5.1 to 8.6
