List of daqmx error code numbers

I'm using LV 7.0 and NI-DAQmx 7.2
When I get a daqmx error (e.g. I try to start a counter twice) the number of the error message is not explained. LabVIEW says: Error number -50103 at unknown location and LV is not able to explain this error. Is there a way to change this?

You are apparently missing the error code file that describes that error. It is C:\Program Files\National Instruments\Shared\errors\English\NI_Platform_Services-errors.txt. Perhaps someone did some house cleaning and deleted some files? In any case, if you do a repair of the installation all should be OK. You do this by selecting Start >> Control Panel >> Add or Remove Programs, select National Instruments Software, click Change, select NI DAQmx 7.2, then click Repair.

You might want to spend some time though, trying to figure out how this happened, or it is liable to happen again. If your investigation leads you to believe there is a problem with the product, please report it.

Thank you, I found the place of the txt files! But I'm using a German LabVIEW, the file "C:\Programme\National Instruments\Shared\Errors\English\NI_Platform_Services-errors.txt exists", but the list in the directory
"C:\Programme\National Instruments\Shared\Errors\German\" is very small, consists of only 5 files.
This also happens with error numbers that begin with -8..., which are explained in NI-DAQmx-experts-int-errors.txt, but both files in German and English directories consists only of "jokers" like
An internal error occurred...
Repair did not help.
Is there a possibility to download these textfiles directly from ni.com?

Oops...

I verified that numerous translated error files are missing for German. Someone from the DAQ team will repond to this thread shortly.

In the meantime, you can manually copy the missing files from the English directory to the German directory and you will at least get the English descriptions.

Thanks for your help with identifying this problem and sorry for the inconvenience.

Hello,

The error codes have not yet been localized for other language support, and therefore, these files are not installed. The English files should probably be installed in the other language directories though. R&D has now been made aware of this gap and will look at fixing it in future releases. For now, as Roy suggested please manually copy the files in the English directory to the German directory.

Sorry for the inconvenience. Thanks!
